Today I'm participating in "Feed Me Books Friday". This is where we share our favorite childrens' books and why.
This week I'm sharing one of my all time favorite collection of books: Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.*
I have to say growing up I don't really remember my Momma reading these classic stories to us, but she bought this book for my kids and we love reading the stories.
I hope you'll look for this book the next time you're at the library or even purchase it online.*
Enjoy!

This week I'm sharing one of my all time favorite collection of books: Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter.*
- The stories are busy, exciting and funny. I really love the eclectic style of the stories. When I saw the movie about Beatrix Potter, only then did I fully understand her writing style and really appreciate it.
- The illustrations are beautiful and simple. And she hand painted each one to go with each story.
- The moral of each story is perfectly suitable for every child at any age.
I hope you'll look for this book the next time you're at the library or even purchase it online.*
Enjoy!

Candi,
You did just fine! The theme is always optional, so don't worry about not doing it.
There is a movie a Beatrix Potter? What is it called? It sounds interesting.
Hey Janna,
It's called Miss Potter. Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor starred in it. She was very eccentric and it's evident in her stories. Only I didn't understand why until after I saw the movie about her life.
Miss Potter!! I Loooooove that movie! Warning -- TEAR JERKER!!
Jemima Puddleduck is a favorite of mine because my mother called my baby "Jemima" before she was born (we kept her name a secret), so Jemima is my Susie's special book character.
Oh, you must check out the Peter Rabbit website at http://www.peterrabbit.com/childrens.asp. My kids especially loved making their own puppet show.
My oldest loves these books and so do I! There's such a sweet feeling you get from reading something you know generations of children have enjoyed. :)
I had several of the individual stories when I was a child and loved them. I'm intrigued by the movie, too. We received a book for a birthday called Nobunny's Perfect by Anna Dewdney and at the beginning she thanks Beatrix Potter "who knew bad bunny behavior when she saw it." We have really enjoyed this book.
I do believe it's time to get out the original Potter books and share them with the girls.
I'll have to find some Peter Rabbit books for my kids to read. I remember reading them as a child!
I have always loved these Beatrix Potter books. Last time I tried them, my kids were not interested, but your post has inspired me. I think it is time to try again. Thanks!
