This week we are learning the letter "S". How I wish we lived up north where they get snow days. Here in Georgia though, we might be blessed with a light dusting of snow during January or February. So as much as I'd like to make a snowman for the letter "S", we made birdfeeders for the winter birds. No doubt you've made these same birdfeeders with a pinecone, but we used a spent magnolia blossom cone. They have a little handle which makes it easy to spread peanut butter on the cone and then hold it to press into "S"eeds. The handle also made it easy to wrap the fishing line around to hang them.
This is an easy frugal project since you are reusing the spent magnolia blossoms. And I don't know about your peanut butter stockpile, but we have several jars of Skippy and a couple of jars of Peter Pan which we were able to buy pretty cheap.

Yep, we have snow up north... and no magnolia blossoms. I had no idea they looked like that. Very cool! Great job with the "s" for seeds... and snow days? When Georgia gets the lightest dusting or snow or ice, don't schools close for days? Can home schools follow that same schedule? :)
... and it's amazing how the stores run out of toilet paper, bread & milk!
