Haircuts at Home

Before my husband and I got married over 11 years ago, he had a regular appointment every other week to get his hair cut.  This usually cost about $12-15 each cut.  Then I decided if I watched carefully how the barber cut it, I could probably duplicate it and cheaper to boot!

You can view some videos on youtube about how to cut hair.

For the last 10 years or so, I've been cutting his hair.  And for the last 6 years, I've been cutting my own hair.  I know that sounds crazy but I've had really short hair that was pretty easy to cut.  Over the last year, however,  I've been letting it grow out.  So there isn't much to maintain now.  I also cut all of our children's hair.  This is a huge cost saver and I'm glad I'm able to do it.

I purchase hair clippers at Walmart about every other year since it's cheaper to buy new clippers rather than to have the blades sharpened.  A nice set of clippers will cost about $20.

Cutting your own hair can save you as much as $400 a year!  That's a lot of moo-la!

Enjoy!

Of course, I don't cut my own hair, but in the spring, summer and fall, I cut hubby's hair. It does save a bundle.

I cut hubby's hair as well. It's really pretty easy once you get the hang of it. It helps to have a husband that isn't picky.

I too love Bakerella. Did you see the seasame street pops? Too cute. Here's my problem. Every time I try to write on the pop with thse edible markers, it doesn't work. It's like the markers don't like to write on the melts. Have you tried them?

I cut my Husband's hair every Sunday night. We bought the Conair clippers from Walmart, and have had them for a LONG time! He is in the Marine Corp, and has to have it cut all the time. After hair cut and tip, it saves up about $624 a year or more!

oh- and I learned just from watching You Tube and trial and error! haha!
