As I mentioned, we've decided since Haylei didn't get into PreK at a Public level, we'll homeschool her again. Last year I used The Letter of the Week program and she did really well. I'm going to use the same program and tailor it to a 4 year old. We're also not going to do it in alphabetical order. I'll share our weekly "lesson plans" if you're interested in what we're doing.
Here's our "lesson plan" for week 1 or letter "C"
Monday (new letter introduction, spelling and writing):
- Introduced the letter "Cc"
- Practice writing the letter "Cc"
- Site words on on flash cards - cup, cat, cut, cap, cab, can, cow
- Scripture Memory: Genesis 1:1
- Biblical Story/Character: Creation (read My Book of Bible Stories 1, 2 & 3)
- Silly Song or Nursery Rhyme "Never Smile at a Crocodile"
- Other books to read: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Little Red Caboose
Tuesday (spelling, writing and math concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Cc"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Genesis 1:1, read story #2
- sing silly song
- read book
- Math concept: counting 1-31 on a calendar
- classify objects by color
Wednesday (spelling, writing and social studies concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Cc"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Genesis 1:1, read story #3
- sing silly song
- read book
- Social Studies concept: learn about castles, who live there, where are some famous ones, build a castle out of blocks, draw a castle and color it
Thursday (spelling, writing and science concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Cc"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Genesis 1:1, review stories 1-3
- sing silly song
- read book
- Science concept: learn about cardinals (coloring page)
- Go for Nature Walk to identify cardinals
- Begin ABC Nature Notebook "C is for Cardinal"
Friday (spelling, writing and art/craft, field trip or fun)
- practice writing the letter "Cc"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Genesis 1:1, read story #2
- sing silly song
- read book
- Art project: mix primary paint colors to create new colors, paint a picture
- Fun: Play cards, play catch with a ball

Ha, we must be on the same wave length right now! I'm doing this as well, but I'm doing a letter a day as my September challenge. Since my daughter isn't quite three years old yet, I'm keeping it simple and doing it daily, instead of weekly. Maybe I'll steal a few ideas from you. I'm doing it backwards, from Z to A by the way! :-)
