Here's our "lesson plan" for week 3 or letter "A"
Monday (new letter introduction, spelling and writing):
- Introduced the letter "Aa"
- Practice writing the letter "Aa"
- Site words on on flash cards - apple, animal, ant, alligator
- Scripture Memory: Jeremiah 1:8 "Do not be AFRAID because of their faces..."
- Biblical Story/Character: Adam and Eve (read My Book of Bible Stories 3, 4, 5) Read story #3
- Silly Song or Nursery Rhyme "The Ants Go Marching..."
Tuesday (spelling, writing and math concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Aa"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Jeremiah 1:8, read story #4
- sing silly song
- Math concept: working on Math Workbook
Wednesday (spelling, writing and social studies concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Aa"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Jeremiah 1:8, read story #5
- sing silly song
- Social Studies concept: Learn about Johnny Appleseed
Thursday (review spelling, writing) This is my working day at the bakery.
Friday (spelling, writing and science concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Aa"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Jeremiah 1:8, review stories #3-5
- sing silly song
- Science concept: learn about ants, how busy they are, (coloring page), read Aesop's fable The Ants and Grasshopper and discuss, make an ant project, online jigsaw puzzle
Saturday: (Family Field Trip)
- Go for Nature Walk to identify ants, apples, asters, animals, etc...
- ABC Nature Notebook "A is for Apple" (we'll be taking a family field trip to an apple orchard on Saturday)
