Our carrots have sprouted! Yeah!!!
We also found a couple of volunteer veggies:
I think we have a couple of cucumbers...maybe a squash too?
We also have a few Black Eyed Susans coming back from last year:
Look at the lettuces...they are so beautiful!
My brother and Dad put together my herb garden...only it is way bigger than I wanted. I can't wait to get some yummy herbs planted in there.
Here are some of my other little flowers blooming...
Souvenir de la Malmaison (the most fragrant rose in my garden)
Nelly Moser clematis
Japanese Irises
I have buds on my knock out roses and my peonies. Hopefully they'll bloom really pretty and I can get a couple of pictures of them.
We are working on our own "DIY Backyard Project". Remember the sketch I shared with you guys? Well, we purchased 5 Leyland Cypress (for $5 each) and planted them along the property line. My husband also found some curved edgers on craigslist for FREE! I was so happy. They aren't perfect, but they look good. After we get some pine straw in the beds, I think it's going to look really good.

Wow your lettuce is looking great, and I love your herb box. I've scattered mine around this year. I planted mesculun but it looks like something is eating it the minute the shoots start to show?!
You could let your kids just paint the signs, then you could write on them what the veg are, I actually just used a permanent marker on these... then I sprayed them with a sealer. Not sure how long they'll last in the garden, we'll just have to see ;)
Lots and lots going on in your garden! Here's to a great gardening year!
The herb box is awesome! You can grow a ton in there. Great design.
looks like you're going to have a very nice garden...that is so cool! i like the herb box design too.
Your garden is a bit ahead of ours. I kind of enjoy the surprises of the volunteers...last year we had some volunteer sunflowers in unexpected places. I enjoyed your post and will come back to read more.
Oh, they look great! So nice to see all that green! It's supposed to snow here this weekend, no joke. :-(
Looks like your garden is off to a good start. There is nothing better than veggies straight from the garden to the table.
What a great garden! Love the herb box and your roses! Oh how beautiful!
I've never had my hand at herbs yet. Maybe that's what I should do this year. I think it's because I don't cook with herbs much... what would I do with them?
