Meal Plan Monday 9/23/13

Last week was a whirlwind.  I had 5 orders to complete for work.  You can check them out on my pinterest board "my cakes".  I love making the baby shower cake that's a pregnant belly.  It's just too cute.  I also had a wedding cupcake tower.  It turned out yummy!

This week is going to be mellow, I hope.  Working at the school today.  Then errands and housework tomorrow.  Wednesday and Thursday working.  Friday is up in the air.  And Saturday and Sunday Tomorrow World is coming to our area so we are preparing for a busy weekend with tourists stopping at the Daisy.  We aren't sure exactly how many people will show up, since they are having food vendors on site.

Last night, our cousins came over for supper.  We ate SkinnyTaste's Chicken Pot Pie Soup.  It is so good.  She brought some amazing yeast rolls.  Speaking of rolls, has anyone else wondered by Pillsbury hasn't come out with a Garlic Cheddar Biscuit?  I was walking up the aisle at the grocery store and it just came to me like a lightning bolt.  Maybe I should send them an email.

I wanted to make some healthy for you desserts.  So I saw a recipe for these 37 Calorie No Joke Brownies.  Well, let me tell you.  These things were disgusting!  The joke was on me and anyone else who decided to make them!  They called for 3/4 cup nonfat greek yogurt.  And that's exactly what they smelled and tasted like.  If you love the chocolate yogurts from the grocery store, you might love these, but I do not, and was super disappointed.  I also made some Black Bean Brownies.  They were pretty good.  Only 79 calories, but we added homemade chocolate buttercream frosting so I'm sure it went well over 150 calories per piece.  My cousin and I joked about starting a blog called "To Pin or Not to Pin, that is the question"...we might still do it.  Someone needs to.  We pin all these recipes and some are fantastic and others are just nasty!

Here's the food plan for the week:

Monday:  Mama Sita's Sinigang Sa Sampalok Pork Roast with rice and green beans

Tuesday:  Shepherd's Pie with broccoli

Wednesday:  Pancakes and scrambled eggs, fruit

Thursday:  Red Beans and Rice with Smoked Turkey Sausage

Friday:  Pizza and Salad

Saturday:  Chicken Ranch and Rice Soup with Grilled Cheddar Cheese Sandwiches

Sunday:  Fend for yourself day (cereal, oatmeal, sandwiches, chips, popcorn, etc)

Breakfast for this week will probably be:
Strawberry Smoothie, PB Sandwich and Egg Whites
PB Sandwich with Bananas, Egg Whites and Cheese

Hope you have a great week!

Sam's has the Red Lobster mix for Cheddar Biscuits. I can get one for you next time I go. I sure canned would not be nearly as good!
