Nature Alphabet: Letter "B"

This week we were learning about the letter "B".  Our week was a little caliwhompus since we spent all day Wednesday in the hospital.  But we managed to take a little nature walk around our house on Friday.  Unfortunately, it's been very, very dry lately.  In my experience, bugs and creepy-crawlies like to hide in moist places under rocks and sticks.  We searched everywhere and could not find any bugs.  We found ants, but I was hoping to find some beetles, roly-polies and other bugs.  We didn't even see any birds!  I was a little disappointed.  Next week we'll plan on going back to my parent's house since they have all kinds of good walking areas with lots of wildlife.

Here's what we found:

Dried Blackberries on the vine

Butterflies on the Butterfly Bush

Zinnia Blooms

a very Busy honey Bee, I could barely get his picture...

Butternut Squash (poor thing, I forgot about it)

Maybe we'll find more nature items during next week's Nature Walk.

Have a great week!

Enjoy!

Great post, and thanks for linking with my blog hop! It's amazing how much you did find even with the dry conditions, and two "B" words... berries and bugs. :) I'm looking forward to seeing what you find at your parent's!

Great photos! Love the zinnias! I used to love taking walks like that with my boys when they were little.

Thank you for the nature walk!
