Week at a Glance - Meal Plan Monday 9/20/10

This week should be routine.  I'm hoping anyway.  The kids are suffering from a head cold with runny noses and coughs.  So I think we'll lay low and try to do a little school work.  We might focus on more projects and less work-work.  We're planning our annual apple picking day in Ellijay on Saturday.  We were hoping to go camping, but Kevin's back on the truck and so he wasn't able to get Friday off from work.  And I don't know about you, but setting up camp for only one night isn't very appealing to me!

This month we can view the new Cooking Channel for free.  I've been loving some of the great shows they offer.  One in particular is Chinese Food Made Easy.  I've been reviewing some of her recipes online and think we'll start making Thursday our Asian Meal night.  In the meantime, this is what we'll be eating this week:

Weekly breakfasts:  Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal with Frozen Blueberries; Chocolate Chip Zucchini Muffins with fresh Bananas

Weekly snacks:  Apple slices with Mozzarella Cheese cubes;  Peanut Butter on Cinnamon Graham Crackers with Grapes

Weekly lunches:  Poppy Seed Pasta Salad;  Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Tomato Soup with diced Avocado;  Nana's Chicken Soup (recipe to follow)
Monday:   Melissa D'Arabian's Beef Carbonnade and Boiled Potatoes (Ballet Lessons 3:30, Working 6-9 p.m.)

Wednesday:  Eggs, Grits, Bacon (Working 6-9 p.m.)

Thursday:  Sichuan Orange Beef, Rice and Salad (Working 7:30-2; Family Worship Night)

Friday:  Hawaiian Pizza with Salad (Family Movie Night)

Saturday:   Apple Picking in Ellijay - Probably take a picnic lunch of sandwiches, pickles, pasta salad, chips; Probably eat supper out on the way home...maybe BBQ

Sunday:  Lunch:  Tuna Sandwiches with Chips and Pickles;  Supper:  Taco Burgers with Oven Cheese Fries

Hope you have a great week!

Just found your blog, it's great! Have fun apple picking in Ellijay. We just got home from getting ours from Mercier's in Blue Ridge. I recommend the Pink Pig in Cherry Log (in between Ellijay and Blue Ridge) for BBQ, they also have the best hamburger steak. Have Fun!

I found your blog through orgjunkie.com and it's fantastic! Your menu for the week sounds really good, especially the beef dish from Melissa D'arabian.
