Here's our "lesson plan" for week 5 or letter "E"
Monday (new letter introduction, spelling and writing):
- Introduced the letter "Ee"
- Practice writing the letter "Ee"
- Site words on on flash cards - elephant, egg, empty, elbow, end
- Scripture Memory: Matthew 24:13 "He that endures to the end will be saved."
- Biblical Story/Character: Esther (read My Book of Bible Stories)
- Silly Song or Nursery Rhyme "When I see an elephant fly (from Dumbo)"
- Extra books to read Dumbo, Emperor's New Groove, Emperor Penguin's New Clothes, Little Engine that Could
- practice writing the letter "Ee"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Matthew 24:13.
- Color picture about Esther becoming Queen.
- sing silly song
- Math concept: working on Math Workbook, incorporating estimation
Wednesday (spelling, writing and social studies concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Ee"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Matthew 24:13.
- Draw a picture of Queen Esther, focus on qualities displayed by Esther, tactfulness, self-control, submission, boldness, fearlessness, discreet
- sing silly song
- Social Studies concept: Learn about Mt Everest and other interesting facts.
Thursday (review spelling, writing) This is my working day at the bakery.
Friday (spelling, writing and science concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Ee"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Matthew 24:13.
- Reread the story of Esther and discuss review questions.
- sing silly song
- Science concept: learn about elephants (coloring page) elephant craft
