Lesson Plan - Letter "F"

Here's our "lesson plan" for letter "F"

Monday (new letter introduction, spelling and writing):  

• Introduced the letter "Ff"
• Practice writing the letter "Ff"
• Site words on on flash cards - feather, fish, foot, fire, farm
• Scripture Memory:  1 Timothy 6:12 "Fight the fine fight of the faith..."
• Biblical Story/Character:  Jesus' first miracle (read My Book of Bible Stories)
• Silly Song or Nursery Rhyme "Flitter Flutter Butterfly"
• Extra books to read The Foot Book

Tuesday (spelling, writing and math concepts)

• practice writing the letter "Ff"
• review site words on flash cards
• review scripture 1 Timothy 6:12.    
• Color picture about Jesus turning water into wine.
• sing silly song
• Math concept:  working on Math Workbook, incorporate fractions, dividing sandwiches, pie, etc...
• Read One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish

Wednesday (spelling, writing and social studies concepts)

• practice writing the letter "Ff"
• review site words on flash cards
• review scripture 1 Timothy 6:12.  
• Read about Jesus' miracle of the fish and the loaves and color picture
• sing silly song
• Social Studies concept:  Learn about Firefighters (coloring page), read online story, contact local Fire Department for field trip, read Curious George and the Firefighters

Thursday (review spelling, writing)  This is my working day at the bakery.  

• Art project with Nana - Fishbowl Craft

Friday (spelling, writing and science concepts)

• practice writing the letter "Ff"
• review site words on flash cards
• review scripture 1 Timothy 6:12.  
• sing silly song
• Science concept: learn about fish (coloring page), fish project (glue sequins to make scales on fish), online jigsaw puzzle, read The Rainbow Fish
