Lesson Plan - Letter "H"

Here's our "lesson plan" for letter "H"

Monday (new letter introduction, spelling and writing):  

• Introduced the letter "Hh"
• Practice writing the letter "Hh"
• Site words on on flash cards - happy, hat, hair, hands, home, honey
• Scripture Memory:  Matthew 5:5 "Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth"
• Biblical Story/Character:  Hannah (read My Book of Bible Stories) and coloring page
• Silly Song or Nursery Rhyme "If you're Happy and you know it..."

Tuesday (spelling, writing and math concepts)

• practice writing the letter "Hh"
• review site words on flash cards
• review scripture Matthew 5:5   
• Biblical Story/Character:  Read about Hannah in Insight book, learn her character traits
• sing silly song
• Math concept:  working on Math Workbook, incorporate Hundreds (100, 200...)
• Read Hetty's 100 Hats
• Sing Songs for the meeting tonight
  

Wednesday (spelling, writing and social studies concepts)

• practice writing the letter "Hh"
• review site words on flash cards
• review scripture Matthew 5:5
• Talk about how we can Help others (ministry, meals, cleaning...)
• sing silly song
• Social Studies concept: Learn about Heart Health
• Read The Big Honey Hunt

Thursday (review spelling, writing)  This is my working day at the bakery.  

• Art project with Nana - Make Hand craft and/or Hula Hoop activity
• Family Worship - sing songs for the meeting Saturday

Friday (spelling, writing and science concepts)

• practice writing the letter "Hh"
• review site words on flash cards
• review scripture Matthew 5:5 
• sing silly song 
• Field Trip to the Aquarium this week
• Science concept: learn about hippos
