Here's our "lesson plan" for letter "I"
Monday (new letter introduction, spelling and writing):
- Introduce the letter "Ii"
- Practice writing the letter "Ii"
- Site words on on flash cards - igloo, insect, inch, inside, it, I
- Scripture Memory: Ephesians 5:1 "...become imitators of God..."
- Biblical Story/Character: Learn about Jehovah's special people the Israelites (read My Book of Bible Stories)
- Silly Song or Nursery Rhyme "Ten little Indians" and this one too
Tuesday (spelling, writing and math concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Ii"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Ephesians 5:1
- Biblical Story/Character: Learn about Industriousness
- sing silly song
- Math concept: working on Math Workbook, incorporate inches, use a ruler or tape measure
- sing songs for the meeting tonight
- Read Inch by Inch
Wednesday (spelling, writing and social studies concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Ii"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Ephesians 5:1
- sing silly song
- Social Studies concept: Learn about the geography of Israel in ancient times (See the Good Land)
Thursday (review spelling, writing) This is my working day at the bakery.
- Art project with Nana - make an Instrument with paper plates and beans (tambourine)
- Sing songs for the Saturday meeting
Friday (spelling, writing and science concepts)
- practice writing the letter "Ii"
- review site words on flash cards
- review scripture Ephesians 5:1
- sing silly song
- Science concept: learn about insects (coloring page), take a field trip to Callaway Gardens to visit the Butterfly house
- read It's a Good Thing There are Insects
