We have a ton of tomatoes from our garden and we've been eating them in sandwiches, in pasta salad, sliced with supper and now we're eating it on our pizza. Here's another pizza using fresh tomatoes. This is an adaption from a Kraft recipe I saw on the back of a package of Mozzarella cheese.
Pizza Margherita
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
sprinkle of salt and pepper
1-1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
fresh basil, torn in small pieces
Prepare pizza dough per directions. Spread spaghetti sauce over unbaked dough to within 1" of edge. Layer tomato slices over the sauce. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Evenly spread mozzarella over the tomatoes. Bake as directed. Serve with torn basil leaves.
This was so good. My friend Donna shared some basil from her little vegetable garden. She started them from seeds!!! I can't wait to try again next year.

My tomatoes are in but not ripe yet. I am definitely going to do this when they do:-)
I've been craving a nice simple pizza. You can never go wrong with fresh basil I say. Thanks for linking and hope to see you again!
What a great looking pizza - It looks like pizzas I have had in restaurants!
That pizza looks really good!
Such a lovely looking pizza. It's good to eat as many fresh tomatoes as possible, while you can. Thanks for sharing this recipe and the photo.
