Week at a Glance - Meal Plan Monday 9/27/10

The months pass by faster and faster.  I feel like I was just typing up our monthly meal plan for September.  Now I'm working on October's meal plan.  Hopefully I'll have it ready by the end of the week.

This week we'll be finishing up our freezer meals and kits.

I'll be making some Pureed Pears a.k.a. Pear Applesauce.  We didn't make it up to Ellijay to pick apples last weekend, it was just too hot.  I like to mix apples and pears together to make real Pear Applesauce, but we'll figure it out as we go.  I'd also like to make some Pear Butter.  I tried to make some last week...yeah, not so much.  It burnt to a crispy sugar rock in the bottom of my crock pot.  I'm not sure what I did wrong, but I'm not a quitter when it comes to food, so I'll try again.

I'm hoping to thaw my freezer before it gets too cool outside.  I wanted to do it last month, but I didn't get around to it.  We're still trying to get into a new routine with homeschool and work, but it might change again in a few weeks.  We'll just play it by ear.

I think that's it this week.  We might incorporate a playdate with some friends towards the end of the week.  And I'm hoping we'll have a good Nature Walk too.  It's been kind of a bummer for the last few weeks.  Maybe it's just that time of year.

Enjoy!
