In the Kitchen: Ice Cream Scoops

You're probably thinking, "Ice Cream Scoops???"

Yes, I said ice cream scoops.  I have three different sizes.  A large one about 1/4 cup size, two that are about the size of 2 Tablespoons and one small one that is about the size of 1 Tablespoon.

I love ice cream scoops.  I use them for ice cream (duh!)
but I also use them for other things...

like cookies:

and muffins:
and measuring out equal amounts of soup for the muffin tin for the freezer:
This works for me, what about you?

Have you repurposed ice cream scoops in your home?

I use mine for muffins, too. Big disher = regular muffin tin, tiny disher = mini muffin tin. I cook lots of things in muffin tins so mine get a lot of use! (Meatloaf, quiche, broth, and of course muffins!)

I love my ice cream scoops! This weekend I visited my mom and was thrown for a loop when she said "why would I have one like that? I have this fancy schmacy scoop instead!" I vowed to always take my scoop with me on long weekend trips :)

How's your wrist/hand today?

Nice ideas. I will have to dig out the old ice cream scoop and repurpose it. I will never think of my ice cream scoop in the same way again. Thanks!

I love scoops! I have four sizes and am lusting after a fifth. Consistant portions make baking so much easier. I bet it cuts down on fights about who got the bigger cookie too.
