I did pretty good with keeping up with my goals this past week, but not great.
I did 6 miles on the treadmill (two on Monday, Wednesday and Friday). I also did my 8 min ab workout on Monday night and Wednesday night. After that, I didn't do it. I also didn't do my 30 Day Shred on Tuesday or Thursday. This was a pretty busy week with preparing for Sissy's dance recital. That's behind us now. I hope next week I'll do better.
I lost another pound. I'm down to 204. That's so exciting!!!
I need to increase my water intake. I noticed I was really thirsty late in the day. I feel better when I drink lots of water. It keeps me feeling full.
I met up with my friends for our "happiness meeting". It was really good. I've missed having our meetings. It's great to see how others are keeping up with their goals and what new goals they are setting. We met up at a yummy Mexican restaurant. I wanted to share a tip I've been doing for the last couple of months:
When you are going out to eat with friends, don't be afraid to eat from the menu. Find out ahead of time where you are going to be dining and check out their online dinner menu. Preparing yourself ahead of time will let you know how many calories you need to save for dinner. You get to enjoy your friends without worrying about the calories.
Hope you are all doing well on this first week of the challenge!
Enjoy!

good tip about eating out, it would never have occurred to me to check out the menu online!
Every single pound lost is cause for celebration. Soon you'll be in the 100s and there will be no turning back. Keep up the good work!
You did a fair amount of exercise, even if it wasn't what you planned, so I'd call that a win. It's got to be flexible enough for you to live with after all.
Congrats on the pound! Thank you for the restaurant tip. I usually get a salad and then shocked that there are actually that man calories in one salad.
You are doing great girl, keep up the good work! :)
I am in total admiration of those of you who are losing while still raising kiddos! I'm not sure I could have done it. Now that the lovelies are all grown up, I should be able to lose it. All of it! I'll post my first week's update tomorrow...I'm staring at the scale now...willing it to be kind. LOL
Great job this week and I love the tip!
Great tip, thank you! I am having dinner out with friends Thursday night... I will do that.
Congratulations on the loss this week and good luck next week!
Great tip for eating out. I always hit the salad bar first, too. Fills me up so I don't overdo it on the other food.
Congrats on the loss! Keep up the great work!
Wow, it sounds like you're doing GREAT to me! You should allow yourself a day or two to rest as well. I try to do 20-30 minutes of exercise in the morning before I go to work (alternate 30day shred and a treadmill run). Then in the evenings when I'm more tired, I'll do a 10 or 15 minute workout before or after dinner targetting an area like ten minute abs or buns, something like that. I break it up so that I don't have to spend a whole hour at one time. I allow myself a special meal and one chocolate candy (small piece_) per day as well. I also drink a ton of water and stay hydrated. Keep it up. You'll see more results soon, 1-2 pounds per week is the normal, healthy way to lose weight and keep it off! You go Candi!
Wonderful, Candi! Excellent work for the first week. Do good this week and drink that water!
Great. A loss! And Exercise! good going...
I always check menus. ALWAYS. I don't go to any restaurant until I've either scoped out their menu online and seen what's "eatable" for me, or, if it's one of those "We're out and what do we eat" things, I look at the menu BEFORE sitting to eat. All restaurants let you do that (to my knowledge). If it's too tempting or not sufficient for my needs, I pass.
When I find one that has a Princess-Plan friendly menu set of items, I go there A LOT. :D
So, yes, that's a great tip. I have a bookmark folder for my Firefox where I bookmark the menus of local restaurants I go to or of interest to try in future. I read reviews, too, to see if the reviewer says they prepare stuff with a lot of grease/breading and how the portions are. If the desserts are too tempting, I consider not going. I am great at resisting most desserts, but I have a few button pushers that I'd rather not even see on a menu. :)
Happy new challenge week....happy to see your progess..
Great tips on the eating out. My boyfriend likes to eat out and I don't want to punish him by never eating out cause I'm trying to lose weight so I figure once a week and making good choices can't really hurt. I'll have to just take your advice on checking things out in advance! Congrats on the loss and the exercise, that's my downfall so far!
Good loss for the week ! And way to go on the exercise as well !
What is a Happiness Meeting ? I am really curious about this, please share.
@sweet pea - some friends and I read the "Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin. It's a great book. We meet once every 6-8 weeks to discuss our goals and resolutions. To see if we are on target, what didn't work, what are we doing differently to meet those goals and did we create any new ones to work toward. :)
Congratulations on your weight loss! You'll be out of the 200s before you know it! :)
I've started checking the menu for places before we go out. It does help to keep things in check but with all my food restrictions, it helps me balance out the day right. I still need to work on this but I'm not doing too bad.
You are nearly in one-derland!! That's great motivation. I know I can't wait to get there. Let's do it together!
Every pound counts. Keep up the good work!
Fantastic weight loss on the first week of STS. Here's to another great week. Stay strong, michele
Nice on the weight loss! You're doing great! I know what you mean about the water, I hate when I get thirsty at night, then I know I didn't drink enough that day or the day before. Amazing liquid isn't it? :-)
