Meal Plan Monday 9/5/11

Over the weekend I made a really cute baby shower cake.  I made the giraffe with fondant and gumpaste. 

The cake was strawberry with strawberry frosting.  I covered it in a light pink marshmallow fondant and then added a ribbon of chocolate fondant around the bottom.  The bow is out of the chocolate fondant too.  

This week we're planning to go pick apples over the weekend.  We really want to go camping Friday-Sunday, but I want to wait to see what happens with this Tropical Storm Lee.  I'd be really upset if we set up our tent and then a monsoon struck.  UGH!  What a nightmare that would be!  But if the storm passes in time...we'll see.  To prepare for our apple picking weekend, we've read Johnny Appleseed and Boo-Boo and I are working on his Apple Counting booklet.  Sissy is also learning about apples at school so this is perfect timing.  We've invited several from our Hall to come up with us on Sunday to pick apples.  It should be fun.  Some of them have never been before, so that's always a special treat!  

Sissy and Wooley have dentist appointments on Tuesday morning.  This is their first time with fillings.  Wooley has 2 cavities (not bad for being 14) so he'll get one this week and the other next week.  I'm sure pictures will follow at some point.   

So this week we are eating:

Monday:  leftovers - we ate Ham dinner on Sunday, so we'll eat leftover of that tonight and then freeze the rest of the ham for other meals.

Tuesday:  Herb Baked Chicken Breasts, Green Beans, Steamed Broccoli and Au Gratin Potatoes

Wednesday:  Frittata with Turkey Bacon and Cheese

Thursday:  Crock Pot Salsa Chicken over Brown Rice with Green Beans

Friday:  Pizza and Salad

Saturday:  Dressed Up Bean Quesadillas - Quesadillas topped with lettuce, tomato and avocado

Sunday:  Poole's BBQ after Apple Picking
